Sunday - A Day of Rest

There is nothing, I repeat nothing, as amazing and heart warming as a group of children singing their hearts out and worshipping Christ. I did not understand a word they said, and I think that made it even more amazing to me. We worshipped together, not speaking the same verbal language but sharing the same language of love for Christ. There are no words. ❤ Following worship, Michelle and Elaine both gave their testimonies.  I don't know about the kids, but the adults were teary eyed by the end. Luka followed up with a message about trusting Christ.

After lunch, we took several of the AYDC kids to the local zoo. There we saw lots of different birds and monkeys, a bear, a couple boas, porcupines, and an asian bear. It was fun to see, but more importantly, it was great to continue strengthing our relationships with these precious kids. From there, we went to play in the water at a dam. The kids were most excited about this!! I'm not sure that I can accurately portay what this is like. We drove, and then suddenly, we were between two concrete slopes, water flowing over the road. We pulled into the water, pulled to the side, and got out. As we pulled up, I could not hold in my initial reaction and simply said "oh, no no no no no no." Mark found that to be hilarious. We got out and played in the water, and everyone had a blast!! Char and Connie braved the larger slope, but were slightly disappointed that they weren't able to slide down quickly. Again, the best part, was building relationships with the kids.

That evening, we had Luka, Ghan, & family over to the guest house for dinner. Our crew made some pretty good tacos for dinner, it gave us all a little taste of home for our hearts. Sunday was a blessed day, a blessed day indeed. ❤
